Creative Writer
Barbara Evers began creating stories before she knew how to read or write, so she found a willing stenographer and dictated them. At the age of ten, she wrote and illustrated a children's story, The Growing Basketball Net. At the age of fourteen, she wrote her first novel. (Both are carefully stored in Barbara's closest!)
Barbara loves books, whether reading or writing them. She works as a professional trainer, and in her spare time, pursues her passion for books. Barbara's essay Unexpected appeared in the best-selling anthology, Child of My Child: Poems and Stories for Grandparents, and an she won an Honorable Mention from Clemson University for an untitled short story. Her short short Hidden will appear in the 2011 issue of South Carolina Writers' Workshop's literary journal, The Petigru Review.
